Tuesday of this week was ‘pi day’ named because the date (the American way at least!) was 3.14 (March 14).
8-2Ma and 8-3Ma were given the task of not only thinking about the number that is pi, and relating it to circles – which they have been doing during their current unit - but also practicing their English, by writing a poem/song/story where each of the words had to have the correct number of letters as seen in pi.
Something like ‘How I wish I could calculate pi …..’ (3.14592 ….).

On our most recent Hungarian trip the Year 12 students had a chance to explore the 20th century art movements in Hungary and also get a glance into the life of, one of Hungary’s greatest poets, Ady Endre.
20 students in Years 5 and 6 recently took part in the Primary Maths Challenge. Nuala and Athena achieved a Gold award and Vlada achieved a Silver award. Other students earned Bronze or Participation certificates.
The BISB WOLVES had an exciting and challenging end to Season 1, participating in the prestigious NAGGE (Nord Anglia Global Games Europe) U19 Volleyball Tournament, hosted by TBS, Warsaw. Last year, our boys' team returned as champions, and the girls' team earned a silver medal.
