Year 12 also had fun making, and looking at the properties of ‘ooblek’, a simple mixture of water and corn starch.
The strange thing about it is that it is called a non-Newtonian fluid, which means it changes what it is (liquid or solid) depending on the force applied to it. Leave it to flow as a liquid but when you apply force it acts as a solid. (This is also why it is difficult to get ketchup out of a glass bottle by hitting the bottom!).
You can easily make this at home and try it out for yourself.

Year 8 Hungarian students went to a Hungarian trip to Gödöllői Királyi Kastély. We learned that Sisi and her family came to this castle in their free time to relax and hunt during fall, winter, and spring.
