Mini Change makers and our Senior Change Maker Ambassadors are proud to announce the completion of our sustainable herb and sensory garden. Our Change Maker Ambassador students were successful in obtaining a 'Rewilding Grant' from Nord Anglia Education. The designated land has only a little sunlight and the soil was poor quality making it difficult for things to grow in.
In Mini Change Makers we learned about permaculture swales. Swales catch rainwater and direct it to where it's needed instead of washing it away. We designed our own garden and worked with a local Eco-Gardening company. Our designs include lots of sensory herbs, berries to eat, lavender to attract bees, bird boxes, a hedgehog home and bee hotel. We have installed a solar powered irrigation system using rainwater that we collect for watering our plants. We look forward to enjoying watching our garden settle and develop in the coming months. Please do check it out!
