On 3rd March, the Global Campus Digital Habitat Competition was launched, giving students the opportunities to work collaboratively with other students to create a habitat for an endangered animal on the platform Minecraft.
In the primary school, we had 9 team entries for animals, including Giant Pandas, Ocelots and Axolotls. Each group chose an endangered animal, researched the threats to them, their habitats and their food sources, then collaboratively built a safe and suitable habitat. The aim of this challenge was to encourage students to recognise environmental action that needs to be taken and hopes to empower our students to work together to find solutions. From the entries we received as a school, one was selected to be submitted to the Nord Anglia competition. In total, over 800 students took part in the challenge from the Nord Anglia family and 50 entries were selected from around the world to be submitted for final judging.
I am very pleased to announce that Lena Bota and Lilia Fodelmesi, both from Year 6 Bronze, have been selected as winners in their category to have their habitat presentation and video showcased on the Global Campus website.
This was a fantastic opportunity for our school to show some of the amazing work being done by students, highlighting the need to protect endangered species and the habitat that they live in.
