We have had such a lovely week learning about 'My Family & Me' in Pre-Nursery. We have been learning all about our families and some special things about what our families means to us.
The books that we focused on for this theme have been 'I love my mommy because.' 'I love my daddy' and 'Titch'.
We have focused on a variety of vocabulary words such as mommy, daddy, brother, sister, baby, granny, grandpa, BIG & small, together, love, caring, kind, belong, home and many more.
We sang some lovely songs together which included learning about being caring, loving and kind as well as incorporating family member songs into our daily routines.
Pre-Nursery children also get together as a whole year level twice a week to sing, dance, do some hand actions, move our bodies and most of all HAVE A LOT OF FUN & laughter!
For art we made our family faces, while also learning about colours and shape as we made our precious faces. We also made our family houses, this activity included cutting up family photos and sticking them onto a house and this is where we learnt words such as together, belong, live and home.
For mathematics we did sorting and matching activities where we matched mommy/daddy and baby animals and we also discussed BIG & small.
We certainly are busy in Pre-Nursery and we learn new things everyday – it is a lot of FUN and we love to progress and grow together.
Next week we will start a new theme of 'Pete the Cat', how exciting! We are definitely looking forward to it!
