It has been a great week for learning new topics in all Chinese classrooms. Students learned new texts and Chinese characters by engaging in a variety of activities.
In Reception, children have been learning all about how seeds dispersal and grow. After listening and singing to the song 'A Leaf Grows', children demonstrated their knowledge of what seed needs to grow into a plant. They loved this song and enjoyed singing and dancing along to it.
Year 1 native group students are learning a chant about tails of different animals. They had lots of fun trying to guess the tails based on the chants. They also tried different ways to learn the new Chinese characters with everyone joining in these super fun activities.
Dictionary is an important tool for learning Chinese characters. Year 2 native group students have made great efforts to practise looking up in the dictionary to find the target Chinese characters and related phrases. They are very proud of themselves that they have mastered this skill.
Year 4 native group students have been learning about life in space. They not only discussed the life in space mentioned in the text with great interest, but also applied their imagination skills to raise other issues that may arise in the life in space. This text has inspired their yearning for space.
