The Wonderful Life Cycle of Plants

The Wonderful Life Cycle of Plants | BSB Sanlitun - Life Cycle of Plants

Our young learners in Nursery have been busy exploring the wonderful life cycle of plants! Through hands-on activities and lively discussions, the children have developed a deeper understanding of how plants grow from tiny seeds into tall, strong plants.

We began by introducing the children to the planting process. Together, we explored the different tools we use for planting, such as trowels, watering cans, and pots. The children were curious and excited as we talked about what seeds need to grow—soil, water, sunlight, and a little patience!

After practising together, each child had the special opportunity to plant their very own beanstalk. They carefully filled their pots with soil, planted their seeds, and gave them a gentle watering. We look forward to watching their beanstalks grow over the coming weeks!

To deepen their understanding, we also offered art and music activities linked to the life cycle of plants. The children enjoyed creating colourful drawings of plant structures, including roots, stems, leaves, and flowers. In music, we sang songs about growing plants, helping the children internalise the stages of a plant’s growth in a fun and memorable way.

It has been a joy to see the children's excitement and wonder as they learn about nature’s magical processes. We can't wait to share the progress of our little gardeners' beanstalks with you soon!
