The celebration started with BSY students’ vibrant performances, a lively skit, and a spectacular Dragon Dance. Their energy and creativity captivated the audience, setting the tone for an afternoon of cultural discovery. These performances were not only entertaining but also a reflection of the children’s growing confidence and ability to share their learning with pride.
Following the performances, families and staff joined in a variety of traditional activities and games across the school campus. From hands on crafts to interactive cultural experiences, the event offered everyone a chance to immerse themselves in the richness of Chinese traditions. Parents and teachers joined in alongside the students, creating a joyful atmosphere of collaboration and shared celebration.
Chinese New Year at BSY is more than a festive occasion as it is an opportunity for students to deepen their cultural understanding and make meaningful connections to the wider world. By learning about traditions and sharing them with the community, our children demonstrated creativity, maturity, and a growing sense of global citizenship. They explored how cultural celebrations bring people together, strengthen identity, and highlight the importance of respect for diversity.
This year’s event also reinforced the values we hold at BSY and across Nord Anglia Education: encouraging students to be curious, confident, and responsible learners who embrace opportunities to connect with cultures beyond their own. The celebration was a wonderful reminder of the strength of our BSY community — united in learning, respect, and joy.
We are proud of our students for their hard work and delighted to have shared this special day with parents and staff. Together, we celebrated not only the traditions of Chinese New Year but also the values of hope, togetherness, and global citizenship that will guide our students into the future.
