In week one of our summer school students will explore the galaxy and planets of our solar system through science experiments and project-based learning. They will investigate space travel and the technology supporting it, which they will apply through a range of investigative projects and activities.
In week two we will look to the future of our planet, and explore the scientific possibilities of emerging technologies and design our ‘World of the future’. Students will create inventions of their own and develop presentations and models, ready to test out in our Science Fair on the final day of summer school.
Space travel has inspired countless stories and artistic endeavors, and in our final week students will use their imagination to create their own works of science fiction through creative writing, art and music activities. Our week will end with a graduation ceremony filled with performances where students will present the work they have completed over the course.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in a field trip that takes place during the day with a series of exciting hands-on activities. This fun and engaging excursion allow children to experience the things they’ve learned at summer school in the real world and give them hand on opportunities to put new skills into practice.
On the final day, parents are invited to attend our Summer School’s very own ‘Reach for the Stars’ celebration. There will be an array of performances on stage to top off a wonderfully meaningful and engaging educational programme.
