Dear Parents,

Thank you to all those who attended our recent Principal’s Afternoon Tea. It was a pleasure to spend such an engaging afternoon together, listening to your thoughts and sharing more about how we continue to strive for improvement across our school. The open dialogue and positive spirit truly reflect the strength of our BVIS community.

During our time together, we discussed the parent survey, its very strong outcomes, and the next steps for the school. We also shared feedback from our recent CIS visit, which was incredibly positive and affirming. This valuable feedback, alongside parent voice, will play an important role in shaping our 2026–2028 Strategic Plan as we continue to plan ambitiously for the future.

We were also excited to share updates on planned campus developments, including proposed improvements to the Creative Arts corridor and classrooms, the indoor swimming pool, Early Years facilities, and more. These developments reflect our commitment to providing outstanding learning environments for our students.

A key focus has been celebrating the strength of the parent survey results while also taking the next step of giving our students a voice. We are delighted to now be gathering student feedback on how they feel we can continue to improve our school. Once collated, we look forward to sharing these insights with them.

With just four weeks left of term, there is still plenty of hard work ahead for both students and staff. We thank you for your ongoing support. As always, should there be anything you would like to raise with your child’s teachers, you are very welcome to make an appointment. We truly appreciate feedback and value working in partnership with parents to continue improving our school.

What an unforgettable milestone for Year 4 - their very first trip away from home! The children showed incredible bravery stepping out of their comfort zones and embracing this new adventure with confidence and excitement.
They took part in so many fun and meaningful activities—from building sandcastles and solving challenges in a treasure hunt, to enjoying swimming games, shining in the talent show, and dancing their hearts out at the disco. More importantly, this trip was about growing up. The children worked together, supported one another, built stronger friendships, and practised independence in ways we are so proud of. To our amazing students—you did it. This is a memory they will carry with them for a long time.

It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm, curiosity, and confidence as they explored new learning environments and interacted with our teachers and facilities. The visit provided a valuable glimpse into international education at BVIS, and we thoroughly enjoyed sharing this experience with our ILO guests.

Last Saturday night BVIS welcomed international schools from across the city to celebrate a night of music and performance. BVIS were more than able represented by RootSix who treated us to an eclectic mix of the Phantom of the Opera and Tek it

Although BVIS did not ultimately triumph in this event, RootSix can be proud of how they performed when up against the best bands in the city. It was wonderful to see them on the stage doing what they do best, justly receiving rapturous applause at the end of their set.

I was also incredibly proud of how the school pulled together to make this event such a success at short notice. Mrs Amos and her team were central to this huge success, and all of our thanks go to them for making this event happen.

We are excited to announce that BVIS will be hosting the Nord Anglia Southeast Asia STEAM Festival from 29th–31st May 2026 — a dynamic, hands-on event that will bring together students from across the region for an unforgettable weekend of creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Planning is already well underway, with staff designing a series of fun, fast-paced STEAM challenges that will push students to think critically and creatively. One of the headline challenges will see students designing and making innovative physical solutions to transport water through a complex obstacle course — combining engineering, teamwork, and resilience.
The excitement will build towards the final day, where teams from different schools will go head-to-head in a live challenge race, competing to successfully transfer water from one end of the field to the other through a maze of obstacles. It promises to be a fantastic showcase of ingenuity, determination, and teamwork.
The festival will welcome students from Nord Anglia schools across Southeast Asia, while also offering a fantastic opportunity for our own BVIS students in Years 6–9 to take part and represent the school on an international stage.
Some of our students have already begun preparing through pre-challenge activities in Wednesday ECAs, developing key skills and experimenting with early design ideas — as seen in the photos.
There are still places available for students who would like to get involved. This is a unique opportunity to take part in an exciting regional event, challenge yourself, and collaborate with students from across the Nord Anglia community.
If you’re ready to take on the challenge — we’d love to see you involved! Look out for an upcoming email with everything you need to know, including year groups, costs, and how to secure your place in this exciting STEAM experience.
