Frances graduated from the University of Exeter, UK, with a BA (Hons) in Music, majoring in musicology. She went on to complete her PGCE in Secondary Music at Birmingham City University, UK, where she won the Jane Crawford Prize for outstanding commitment to teaching and learning. She has continued to foster a love of lifelong learning and has also completed her Advanced Certificate of Music from the Berklee College of Music, USA, focusing on advanced compositional techniques and vocal development.
Frances began her teaching career in the UK and was the Head of Music at a rural school in Somerset before relocating overseas. She taught for several years at BIS HCMC as both a Primary and Secondary Music specialist and was also the Instrumental Leader and lead teacher for the Secondary Choral programme. She is an experienced teacher and leader with over 15 years of dedication to the performing and creative arts.
Frances enjoys exploring different cultures, principally focusing on music and food, with her family, which includes two young daughters. She is a singer, violinist, and conductor and often performs around the city, most recently with the ICOHCMC. She has an eclectic taste in music, ranging from the Backstreet Boys to Einaudi!
