This year, CDL put up 4 academic scholarships to reward the outstanding attitude of 4 of our talented students, both academically and in their personal development and commitment to others. We received many applications which led to a tough competition. After careful consideration, we are pleased to present to you one by one our 4 winners. In this article, meet Capucine, a wonderful Bac student who has greatly deserved this award.
My journey to the CDL started 6 years ago. I was in 6ème, knew almost nobody and had just moved. I was coming from Paris in a completely different environment. The CDL immediately welcomed me with open arms, introduced me to people from all over the world and allowed me to grow enormously. I am currently in my Première Baccalauréat and I am very happy and honoured to have received the Academic Scholarship.
CDL has given me the opportunity to participate in a lot of activities. I was able to join the IKOKU association, which raises funds to support children in a school in Kenya, the National Honor Society (NHS) with which I help students with their homework, and I was a class representative for two years. I currently do Krav Maga, an Israeli self-defence technique, and horseback riding, but I have previously been able to do tennis, dance, and boxing with the school. I have also, thanks to CDL, been rewarded for all the work I do and the extracurricular activities I do by receiving many awards such as the Excellence Award, the Leadership Award, the School Involvement Award and the REACH Award.
This opportunity has pushed me to succeed academically but also in the many activities I participate in outside of school. Applying for this scholarship has also shown me the importance of perseverance. After not being selected a few years ago, I decided to get more involved in the school and participate in as many activities as possible to get it. That is why I am proud to have persevered and to have received the Academic Scholarship.
