With the GESBF (group of Swiss schools preparing for the French Baccalaureate), directed by Emmanuel Coigny, Executive Principal / Proviseur du Secondaire at CDL, a partnership now allows students enrolled in the French Baccalaureate to benefit from a continuous assessment for their exams and to have the status of "school candidates", which is exceptional for public schools outside of France.
To celebrate this model of Franco-Swiss educational cooperation, we had the honour and pleasure of welcoming Hélène Insel, who is “Rectrice” (Chief Education Officer) of Grenoble academy, and her delegation, in the presence of Frédéric Journès, the French Ambassador, Patrick Lachaussée, the General Consul of France and Renaud Lallement, the Cultural Counsellor.
Gabriel, a student of the class of 2023, brilliantly opened the welcome ceremony with a Chopin Nocturne on the piano and a magnificent interpretation of a Michel Berger song, accompanied by his teacher Claire Charles on the piano.
One could tell the emotion in the room and Gabriel received a standing ovation initiated by the Ambassador, quickly followed by all the participants.
The authorities continued the day visiting classes. They also had the opportunity to discuss with the students' representatives and members of the teaching teams.
This is a great recognition of the work done by our teachers but also by the students, who were congratulated for their commitment.
The day ended beautifully with the signing of an agreement at the residence of the French Consul.
The press reported this wonderful event. You may read the article published in Le Dauphiné on 6th October 2021 here or below.
