Learning mindfully

20 January 2017

One has to be in the right state of mind to be able to learn efficiently. Mindfulness exercises help students grow their awareness of the here-and-now,  recognize their emotions and channel their energy positively. The scientific community as well as our young practitioners are unanimous. Mindfulness is a great!

Tools to help focus their attention, to better manage their emotions, and to improve their self-awareness. That is what we aim to provide our students with on a daily basis through the practice of mindfulness exercises, starting as early as age six!

Mindfulness is in essence about awakening to the present moment. In recent years, a growing number of scientific studies have underlined the benefits of mindfulness. Harvard University research scientists showed that practicing mindfulness for at least 8 weeks grew the volume of grey matter in the brain, according to the study published in  « Psychiatry Research : Neuroimaging ». Grey matter is responsible for learning skills, memory, emotions regulation. As life-long learners, our teachers have developed a growing interest in this technique which actively supports students in their learning journey.

Mindfulness is an integral part of our wellbeing programme that covers social, emotional and physical components.

Our innovative approach to education was highlighted in a recent TV programme.
