• To create and develop a positive team atmosphere
• To lead and manage the Diploma Programme
• To hold the title of DP Coordinator for all IBO administration
• To provide curriculum leadership in Secondary and ensure a written curriculum is implemented and reviewed in DP1 and 2 with high expectations
• To oversee academic department budgets and the annual department development planning process
• To support the Head of Secondary in establishing and developing a university and careers programme that runs throughout the Secondary School
• To drive excellent standards of academic provision across the Secondary School
• To support the Head of Secondary in ensuring the school maintains the highest possible standards of teaching and learning
• To oversee baseline testing, target setting, progress tracking and the analysis of examination results
• To participate in the induction process of new teaching staff by introducing academic policies and practices as necessary
• To foster close partnerships with parents, initiating contact in appropriate circumstances, monitoring meetings and recording follow-up action
• To contribute to the strategic development of the Secondary School in line with the aims of the School through the Evaluation Form and the development and implementation of the Whole School Development Plan
• To facilitate the articulation of the Secondary curriculum as it moves from Primary to Secondary and from the MYP to the DP
• To oversee the delivery and development of the Secondary School curriculum
• To manage the reporting of academic progress to parents

• To be aware of and act upon all policies regarding the safeguarding of children
• To liaise with the Head of Secondary School, be familiar with the policies on Health and Safety and be proactive in ensuring the safety of all members of the school community at all times.

Staff Development
• Evaluates the professional performance of faculty and staff according to school procedures in liaison with the Head of Secondary, provides constructive feedback and deals effectively with instances of unsatisfactory practice in relation to planning, teaching and assessment
• Professionally self-evaluates soliciting feedback from constituents.
• Organises continuing professional development of faculty and staff in accordance with their personal, professional and school goals including workshops and school visits
• Provides an ongoing system of induction to ensure that all staff are trained to implement the MYP, including use of the OCC
•Assists the Principal and Head of Secondary in hiring highly qualified, experienced and enthusiastic staff, as required.
