Andrew McLoughlin, Head of Secondary, commented:
“Two things stand out particularly with this year’s graduates. Firstly, in conjunction with our students, LCIS actively chose to pursue the examination route rather than opt for the non-examination route using teacher-assessed grades. Our students have worked so hard through these two very difficult years, and they did not want to give anyone the chance to say they had not achieved these results through rigorous examination processes. Secondly, every single student in the cohort took the full IB Diploma examination – we do not believe it is right to enter students for lesser qualifications when they have given their all – so a pass rate of 95% is quite phenomenal.
Our average score in the IB Diploma continues to improve every year, and benchmark higher than the global average, which highlights the excellent academic standards at La Côte International School Aubonne and the calibre of our students in comparison to other international schools globally.
This continued academic success is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students through the rigorous programme of education that they pursue during their time at LCIS. Our teachers also drive these exceptional results by encouraging and inspiring our students to not only succeed in life, but to truly flourish.”
LCIS graduates gain access to some of the world’s top universities
Graduating from La Côte International School Aubonne with an IB Diploma provides our students with a passport to higher education in some of the best universities both within Switzerland and across the globe. This year we have seen our students receive multiple offers from prestigious academic institutions including MIT, University of Toronto, Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne and some of the top UK universities.
At LCIS we are committed to nurturing individual talents and passions so that our students can take ownership of their future, whatever they choose to be or do in life. This is clearly evidenced by the varied higher education subject choices selected by our Class of 2021: from Business Management to Car Design, Medicine to International Hospitality, Politics to Art Foundation.
