Iain Loch

Iain Loch

Mathematics and Science Teacher - Secondary School

Originally from Scotland, Iain has an Honours degree in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Strathclyde and a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Sunderland.

He worked in many fields, such as construction, IT, market research, experimental research, and all the way up to driving forklifts and working on farms before he fell in love with teaching. He has eight years of experience teaching at international schools in Brazil, Japan and here in Switzerland. He has taught MYP Math, DP Physics, IT skills and several other subjects. As a Physics and Math teacher, he encourages students to use their natural curiosity when looking at the world. In his class students can never ask ‘But why?’ too many times.

Iain has a passion for travelling the world with his wife, Kimberly, and meeting people from different cultures. Although he is originally from Scotland, he has lived in Canada, Australia, Brazil, Japan and Switzerland. When he is not teaching or grading, he likes to spend his time playing guitar, watching movies and eating bacon.
