Richard Jones-Nerzic

Richard Jones-Nerzic

Head of Humanities

Richard Jones-Nerzic is from Cardiff in Wales. He studied history and politics at the University of Wales before going on to complete a Masters in Political Philosophy at the University of York.

A teacher since 1993, he began his career in Wales before moving to the International School of Toulouse as Head of Humanities in 1999. In 2007 Richard moved to the British International School of Bratislava where he was Academic Director and ICT coordinator. In 2009 he joined the European School in Brussels where he was coordinator of history.

Richard built his first history teaching website in 1999 and internationalschoolhistory.net continues to take up a lot of his time. He has also co-authored a series of IB Diploma history textbooks for Oxford University Press. He has been examiner for the IB Diploma for a number of years and is currently team leader for the Extended Essay in Politics.

Richard is a frustrated singer/guitarist who once appeared as a teenager on the BBC. Unfortunately, a video of the performance is available on YouTube.
