EYFS Coordinator

I have been working for British College of Brazil for nearly 3 years and have loved every day! I am lucky to have been employed in both campus’, allowing me to know lots of different staff and lots of different students. During my second year I took on the role of Early Years Coordinator, working with a team on our Chacara Flora Campus to ensure that the children here are well looked after and progressing in their learning.

I studied at Liverpool John Moores University initially, graduating with Honors in Outdoor Education. During my time doing this degree I realised that I wanted to work in schools with children, specifically in Primary. To achieve this I immediately started a year long PGCE, specialising in 3 to 7 year olds, at the University of Brighton.

Straight after completing my PGCE I started my career at a school in Brighton, England. I worked there as a Reception teacher, developing my practise and helping to set up the first two form entry in the school. During my time at this school I enjoyed working with the children with their learning and getting them ready for the rest of their school careers. After two years it was time for me to move on and I secure my job at BCB.

During my freetime I enjoy learning new recipes to cook with and coming up with ways to make home comfort foods while living abroad. When I first arrived in Brazil I took up CrossFit and have enjoyed learning about this new sport, it has kept me healthy and active while allowing me to learn Portuguese!
