Academic Results

Standardized tests are an excellent tool to assess the individual performance of our students and compare it to national and international standards. Our faculty uses their students standardized tests results to plan their lessons and develop PLPs.

ISR Standardized Tests

The Measures of Academic Progress test presents content to students according to their age and grade level. As the student answers a question, the test adjusts the level of difficulty in response to the student’s answer. MAP measures learning in math, reading, and language use. MAP assessments use the RIT scale to create a grade-independent RIT score, which indicates the level of question difficulty a given student is capable of answering correctly about 50% of the time.

Our students take this test at the beginning of the school year and, along with their teacher, establish PLP goals. At the end of the school year they take it again to verify if the goals were met.

The Writing Assessment Program is an assessment tool developed by ERB that stands out from nearly all others. The WrAP is scored analytically using a six-trait, six-point rubric, which provides information that can help target instruction in writing. ISR applies this test to students grade 6 and 8 in English and for grade 5 and 7 in Spanish.

The Children’s Progress Academic Assessment (CPAA) is an adaptive skills assessment designed by Columbia University and MIT researchers, it offers educators a reliable tool to guide targeted instruction for early childhood learning. ISR applies this test to students in preprimary grade.
