HISTORY AND HERITAGE

Since the early 1980s, San Roberto has stood proudly in Monterrey as a recognizable and respected hub of education. As a school focused on language from the start, we’ve always aimed to provide our students with a successful and progressive education —ideals we still hold to this day. Over time, these principles have seen the school blossom into a learning community whose exceptional standards are recognized around the world.

PROMISING BEGINNINGS: THE 1980S AND 1990S

Instituto San Roberto, as our school was once known, started out as a preschool in 1982. ISR’s preschool activities began in a small, rented house in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León. The preschool proved such a success that elementary levels opened the next year, along with a bilingual program.

The school’s popularity continued to grow so much that the student body needed new facilities — fast. We opened our San Agustín campus just one year later, in 1984. Middle school levels opened in 1989, and in 1994 our second campus Valle Alto opened its doors to accommodate the increasing population in the south of the city.

PROUD TO BE ACCREDITED: THE 2000S

In 2002, San Roberto was delighted when both our San Agustín and Valle Alto campuses were accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, which went on to become Cognia, the world’s foremost education improvement organization.

San Roberto campuses have been granted the 2021 Cognia School of Distinction Award, which recognizes schools that exemplify excellence in education, as demonstrated in Cognia Performance Standards.
