Creativity, Emotion, and Individuality
The musical program develops early music sensitivity, creativity and knowledge in our students in a natural and lasting way. Playing an instrument gives them creative, emotional, and social opportunities and it may improve school performance in areas beyond music.
In addition to instilling a passion for music in our students, this program allows them to express their individuality, develop their talents and forge discipline and self-esteem.
Music in Preschool
Students learn about music and its elements via singing and movements. Every child should tune and have a musical rhythm and pulse. They also develop a vast knowledge of diverse musical styles and interpretation.
String Program
From grades 1 to 4 our students receive music instruction via our string program. This adds a unique value to their lives, which cannot be filled with any other type of music education.
Band and Chorus
During grades 5 and 6 our students learn to play one of the wind instruments that are part of our concert band: Western concert flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, or tuba.
Starting grade 7 music class is divided in three different areas: band, chrous and percussion. Students are tested to determine which area will allow them to maximize their abilities and complete their musical education at ISR.
