Standard requirements are the most recent academic report and a current teacher recommendation (completed on a form which we will send).
Additional requirements include:
-
A classroom assessment for EYFS students which usually lasts around 30 minutes. The teacher will be able to speak to the student, observe how they interact with other children and assess whether they are ready for school.
-
Any student applying for a place in our Secondary school will be asked to complete a CAT4 (cognitive ability test) which is completed on computer, and to complete a short reading and writing assessment. This can be done at the school or under supervision elsewhere (ie. current school). Where a student is in situ in Yangon, an informal interview with an academic staff member will also be arranged. The results of these assessments are reviewed and a decision on admission made thereafter.
These assessments allow us to get a better understanding of your child’s abilities, and ensure that we are able to meet their learning needs.
If your child has Special Educational Needs, please inform the admissions team as soon as possible. Their needs will be discussed with a teacher and relevant senior leader prior to the child starting at the school. Once accepted, the EAL/Learning Support team, teachers and teaching assistant work together to ensure that your child is given the best support possible.
