The seminars are free and open to all parents in the community, including those who do not have children at Collège du Léman. We will be happy to meet you and get to know you at these events.
The Parent Academy will become a dynamic community, helping parents to deal with the challenges of raising their children, to better communicate with them and to work closely with the school.
The first seminar will take place on Tuesday 29 November on the following topic:
21st century babies: How to raise, teach and reach multi/bilingual children
How can I best:
- Support my child’s multi-/bilingual education?
- Realise the benefits of raising multi/bilingual children?
- Effectively support and promote learning two or more languages in the home?
- Recognise and develop my child’s unique multi/bilingual learning style?
- Help my child discover the motivation to learn languages?

The presenter, Dr. Christina Limbird, founder of Linden Global Youth and Education has a wealth of experience and is an expert in this field. She has conducted extensive research and, as a mother, brings up two bilingual daughters.
The next seminar will be held on Monday 9 January on the topic of “Internet and E-Safety” by Alan Earl, an expert from the UK’s South West Grid for Learning. This will be followed by a seminar on Tuesday 28 February with Dr. Olivier Revol, head of the Center for Learning Difficulties at the University hospital of Lyon, on “Educating Teenagers in the 21st century: The new codes.”
We hope to have many of you attend these interesting events, which will always be translated simultaneously into English or French. If you have any questions or require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
