We offer family-friendly boarding for 250 boys and girls, in modern and secure facilities, cared for 24/7 by our experienced House Parents.

A SECOND HOME

Our boarding community is a big family and each Boarding House provides a friendly and welcoming home.

As a school, we welcome over 100 different nationalities to our community, and the discovery of new cultures and languages is a privilege that we want our students to experience fully.

Students are encouraged to use all the benefits of belonging to this community to make friends from all over the world, discover new cultures and interests. In addition, this has the benefit of providing a global network for the future.

Girls and boys are located in separate houses.

Boarders are always proud of their houses, whichever one they belong to. The standard of each house is the same, but each one allows for different tastes and focus.

Each house is equipped with shared bedrooms, to encourage communication between students. Rooms are allocated based on the profile of each student, their age and their interests.

Each house also has a pleasant common room for students to relax in, whilst also providing work areas for study halls. There is an allocated quiet time for homework after school in every Boarding House.

All houses have fully equipped kitchens, even though our cafeterias cater to our students’ meals outside of the Boarding House.

Each house has WiFi internet access throughout.  This is turned off during the night to ensure that students get the sleep that they need.

A very important part of the Boarding House is the garden. Each student has access to a beautiful outside space, to relax in and to take advantage of the beautiful and mild Geneva weather.

We encourage our students to experience the simple pleasures of growing vegetables and fruits. Even in the 21st century with a technology-rich curriculum, we ensure our students are in tune with some of life's simple pleasures, such as gardening.

Champ des Bois CDL Boarding House
Champ des Bois
Our junior villa accommodates up to 11 boys and girls and is located right beside the campus. Most rooms are triple sharing, although some doubles are available. Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the building. We have a fully equipped kitchen, laundry and a large sitting room with television, Wii and other entertainment and games. Outside there is a large, beautiful garden with space for football and other lawn games, as well as a huge swing, an organic garden and a paved patio with a barbeque and table and chairs for outdoor dining.

JB Terray CDL Boarding House
JB Terray

JB Terray is located a short 5 minute walk away from the campus, in a quiet residential area. It is very popular with our older students who appreciate the preparation for independent university living, and the beautiful villa is the highlight for students in their final year! All the rooms have Wi-Fi, and they are mostly twin-sharing. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry, a large sitting room with television and Wii, and a ‘chill-out’ room. Students appreciate the privacy, the beautiful garden and the opportunity to walk to school in a setting of natural beauty.

Leman Boarding House CDL
Leman
Léman House is the original heart of our school, in the centre of our campus. The building has been redeveloped over many years and was just refreshed to give excellent boarding facilities for over 50 boys from grades 9 to 12. Every room has desks, Wi-Fi, and en-suite toilet and shower facilities. Outside there is a paved roof terrace with tables and chairs. The house furniture has also been renewed. Rooms are generally twin-sharing room, there is a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry, and a sitting room with a television and Wii.

Louis Degallier CDL Boarding house
Louis Degallier
Our Louis Dégallier Villa is located a short 10 minute walk away from the campus, in a quiet residential area. It is very popular with the older students who appreciate the preparation for independent university living, and the beautiful villa is the highlight for students in their final year! Rooms are mostly twin sharing, there is a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry and a large sitting room with television and Wii, plus Wi-Fi access throughout the house. Outside there is a beautiful private garden.

Louis Yung 7 CDL Boarding House
Louis Yung 7
Louis Yung 7 is located a short 10 minute walk away from the campus, in a quiet residential area. It is very popular with the older students who appreciate the preparation for independent university living. Rooms are mostly twin-sharing. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry, and a large sitting room with a television and Wii. The House has Wi-Fi access througout. Outside there is a beautiful large private garden with space for activities and lawn games.

New Portena CDL Boarding House
New Portena
New Portena accommodates up to 30 girls from grades 9 to 12 and is located within the quiet and secure Primary campus. The rooms are either twin or triple sharing with desks and Wi-Fi. We have a fully equipped kitchen, laundry and a stunning large sitting room with a grand piano, television, Apple TV, PlayStation, Wii, games and a library. Outside there is a decked area with picnic tables, sheltered by trees and next to an herb and vegetable garden.

Old Portena CDL Boarding House
Old Portena
Old Portena lies at the centre of the campus in a quiet area on the Primary side of the school. It is a house for around 20 junior girls who find it to be an extremely welcoming home. Rooms are a mixture of 2, 3 and 4 sharing, which helps the girls integrate and make friends when they first arrive. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry and a sitting room with a television and Wii. The house has Wi-Fi access, and all rooms have desks.

Olympus
Olympus House was recently built, within the centre of the campus, to provide excellent boarding facilities for 38 boys in Grade 9 to Grade 12. Every room has an en-suite toilet and shower facilities. Rooms are twin-sharing. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry, and a vast sitting room with a pool table, television and various electronic consoles. The house has Wi-Fi access and all rooms have desks.

Villa du Lac

Villa du Lac Boarding House was custom built to provide excellent boarding facilities for 36 girls from Grades 9 to 12. All rooms are twin-sharing, with desks, Wi-Fi, and en-suite toilet and shower facilities. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry, and a vast sitting room with a television and various electronic consoles. Outside, within private gated grounds, there is a beautiful garden with tables and benches to relax on.

Concha Blanca
Concha Blanca Villa accommodates junior boys in grades 6 to 8 inside our secure campus. Rooms are either twin or triple sharing and all have desks and Wi-Fi. We have a fully equipped kitchen, laundry, large sitting room with televisions and Wii, a beautiful large garden with space for football and other lawn games, including a swimming pool which is open in the summer, and a paved patio with a barbeque, table and chairs.

Concha Annexe House has a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. It has recently been renovated to give excellent boarding facilities to students in grades 9 and 10 and is located inside our secure campus. All rooms are twin-sharing, with desks and Wi-Fi. We have a fully equipped kitchen, sitting room with televisions and Wii, a beautiful large garden with space for football and other lawn games, including a swimming pool which is open in the summer, and a paved patio with a barbeque, table and chairs.

THE HOUSE PARENTS

The Boarding Houses and the rules are all based on the same principles that naturally occur in a family home. Each Boarding House has House Parents that are there to oversee the smooth running of student life.

The Houseparents live in and share the Boarding House with their team of Graduate Assistants, resident and non-resident Tutors. The team’s responsibility is to care for the children, some of whom may be away from home for the first time.

A 24/7 EDUCATION

One of the main benefits of boarding is the round the clock education that students receive. This leads to effective academic, social and personal development.

The house parents and the tutors keep a close eye on both the academic performance and the wellbeing of each child and report back to parents on both areas in depth.

Boarding can provide an excellent transition from home to independence and maturity. The Senior Boarding Houses, and the outside villas, enable boys and girls to enjoy the benefits of boarding at an important stage in their school careers, and to prepare for life at university.
