There are certain entry requirements that your application must meet for your application to be successful.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English and Vietnamese are the languages of communication throughout the school and in relevant lessons. Consequently, all prospective students must demonstrate that they are sufficiently fluent in Vietnamese and/or English language to be able to communicate effectively in their intended year-group.
Subject to maximum numbers, the school is able to provide additional English or Vietnamese support at no extra cost, for children who may initially need it. Children with minor specific learning difficulties can also be supported.

THE ENTRANCE ASSESSMENT
The entrance assessment takes place within school by appointment, although in some circumstances it may be possible for the assessment to be sat in a family’s country of residence where that is outside of Vietnam. The Admissions Office will be happy to advise you what is most suitable for your child.
All applicants are required to sit an entrance assessment and/or attend an interview to establish how we can best support each student both academically and socially/emotionally.
If the applicant is unable to visit the school to take an entrance test, parents must provide the school with the means of completing the assessment. Where applicable, all additional information such as: examination certificates, school reports, personal recommendations and academic transcripts should also be submitted).
If a child has specific learning difficulties, additional relevant assessment documentation will be required and an interview with the Learning Support Coordinator will occur before a place can be offered.
Entry into Early Years Foundation Stage (F1-F3)
- A simple 30 minutes with Admissions staff
- In certain cases, a trial period in the classroom.
- It is a requirement that children are no longer in nappies before entering the school.
Entry into the Primary School (Y1 – Y6)
- A verbal and written appraisal of your child’s English and Vietnamese language ability and academic development
- This is important for both children who have English as a first language and those who do not, for it allows us to understand which class he or she would be most suited to.
Entry into the Secondary School (Y7-Y9)
- English writing and speaking assessment
- Online cognitive ability test (CAT4)
- A further English as an additional language (EAL) as required with a member of the EAL team.
