This week we have had the pleasure of welcoming nine members representing the Council of International Schools. As you know we have been working hard to prepare and to seek full CIS accreditation. The CIS visiting team have spent the whole week evaluating our school and have been carrying out a very thorough and detailed review of all areas of the school operations with a particular focus on the School mission and quality of education provided. All of the visiting team members are current serving senior leaders from CIS accredited outstanding schools across the region. Following the visit which concludes today, the team will write a full report including a list of commendations and a list of recommended areas to improve further as the school expands. In January 2016 we will receive the full approved report and will be informed at this time if we have been successful in our accreditation. I will share their initial feedback with you all next week.
What I can say is that during this week, I have only heard very positive things about the school, the teachers, the parents and the community. The staff, students, parents and whole community have clearly demonstrated this week the pride and passion they have for our school and this has become very evident in all the informal feedback we have received. I would like to say a big well done and thank you to everyone involved and it has been great to celebrate and share the many, many successes of our school with fellow professionals this week.
On Tuesday we were delighted to host an event called ‘teachmeet’. This was an opportunity for teachers across the BIS group of schools in Ho Chi Minh to meet, discuss and share good teaching tips, strategies and ideas. The event was well attended with over 100 teachers engaging in this valuable teacher development networking event.
As usual we have held some very special events this week including KS3 poetry slam, live lunch, EYFS mad scientist theme day and a primary ict parent coffee morning. A truly wonderful week of activities and events. Thank you to all those of you who have been involved.
I wish you all a very relaxing weekend.
