Mr Simon Graves Weekly Update 26th June

26 June 2015

A big thank you to all of you – students and their families – for making me so welcome since I joined the school, and also to all of the staff for all their tireless work and support. A special thank you of course to those secondary colleagues leaving today – Ms Keen, Ms Angus, Mr Fleming, Mr Holmyard, Ms Hickinbottom and Mr Shoesmith. All have given so much to the school, both in and out of the classroom, and you will be sorely missed by students and colleagues alike.

It has been a crazily busy last week, of course. The year 11s were out on their end of year trip to Dam Sen Water park and the cinema on Monday, but in school we held our first ever key stage 3 art exhibition

On Wednesday we held our Orator competition, and were quite literally blown away again by the quality of the entries, both in Vietnamese and English.

Then on Thursday, we celebrated the fantastic achievements of our secondary students at the Prize giving Ceremony which showcased again the range of talent amongst our young people here at BVIS.

Finally, on Friday we joined with our primary school for the end of year assembly. The excitement rose with the announcement of the House Winners 2015 – Hue. But most of all it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate how together we are as a school, and to appreciate the quality of teachers, support staff and students from Foundation all the way through to Year 13.

All that leaves me to say a big thank you once again, have an amazing summer, and I can’t wait to see everyone again in August.
