·      Other activities to promote books and reading will include paired reading (older children sharing books with younger children) and our “Spot the Reader” game! Children have to look out for one particular teacher reading every day next week…!

·      The “BVIS Book Shop” with many books in English and Vietnamese on sale in room 211 on the second floor, will be open from Monday 21st September to Friday 25th September from 08:00 until 16:30

Children may visit the shop accompanied by an adult or Secondary sister/brother before or after school.

·      Visiting us from the UK are “The 2Steves.” Together they are Britain’s most popular comedy writing and performing double act for young people. The 2Steves met over twenty years ago when they were both teachers. Since then they have written over 150 books together. The 2Steves are in great demand for author visits to schools, colleges and libraries across the world. They also make regular appearances at Literary Festivals.

Books by the 2Steves will be available to purchase next week and the authors will be available to sign their books too on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th September from 15:00 – 16:00 in the Primary Foyer.

·      Our visiting Vietnamese author this year is Bich Khoa, a prize winning writer and artist whose beautiful books have been translated into several other languages.  She writes for all ages from the youngest readers to teenagers.

Books by Bich Khoa will be available to purchase throughout the week in the Book Shop and the author will be available to sign her books too on Tuesday 22nd September from 15:15 – 16:15 in the Primary Foyer.

·      On Friday 25th September, we will hold our annual Book Week assemblies when the children and teachers will dress up as book characters. Parents are welcome to join F3 – Y6 at 08:30 in the Main Hall. You are also welcome to the Early Years assembly at 10:45 in the ELC.
