Dear parents
I had the pleasure of attending the annual FOBISIA Leadership conference held in Bangkok last weekend. The conference was entitled ‘FOBISIA Cares’ which was a very appropriate heading for this informative conference. Together with Mr Oliver and Mr Shooter we had the opportunity to speak with other successful leaders in the region and absorb some good practice from other schools in the group. One striking seminar was focused on e-safety and the use of the internet. This is something that we would like to do more work on with students, teachers and parents. As technology rapidly changes we have to ensure that we keep pace with these changes and continue to educate our communities to understand not only the huge positive impact that technology has had but also make people further aware of some of the dangers of this new technology and new world we live in. As a school this is something we will continue to focus on in the coming year or so.
On Wednesday we had the pleasure of welcoming Andy Gleadhill to BVIS. Andy is a musician who travels around the world to work with schools and students to promote music. He wowed the whole school on Wednesday morning with his abilities on percussion instruments whilst educating us all on the history of some of the percussion instruments over time. Andy then spent the day working with our students in some of their music classes. It was a great day and the students and staff had a lot of fun during his visit.

Finally, next week we will be focusing on our ‘Love BVIS’ campaign. A huge thank you to all of you who have already submitted your photos for the competition. I am looking forward to what promises to be a great week.
I wish you all a very relaxing weekend.
