It’s the end of another term full of learning at BVIS and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our teachers and teaching assistants for their hard work. BVIS children have enjoyed a term of spectacular events such as the whole school Moon Festival celebrations, the “Mad Scientist Day” in our Early Years department and our first production of the year – “Kiki the Penguin saves Christmas and the World” performed so well last week by Year 2 children.
We have also had a visiting author and two visiting musicians this term and many parents have been in school finding out more about their children’s learning at the parents evenings, coffee mornings and Exit Points we have held.
BVIS Pantomime – “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves”
Term one finished in style with the BVIS pantomime, written by Ms Julie and performed by the teachers on Friday morning. Traditionally performed during the Christmas season, with family audiences, it is now a very popular form of theatre in the UK, incorporating song, dance, buffoonery, slapstick, in-jokes and audience participation. It is excellent entertainment for adults, teenagers and children alike.
The children (and Vietnamese staff) loved all the songs, jokes and seeing the teachers dressed up as the familiar characters of this traditional story. It was an unforgettable end to term one!
Enjoy these photos of our youngest children performing their Christmas story and songs for their families on Wednesday.
I wish all our BVIS families and friends a very happy holiday. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2017!
