International Day of Charity – 5th September 2016

Learning to be global citizens is one part of our mission here at BVIS and as part of our learning we have remembered “International Day of Charity” this week.

September 5

was the United Nations’ International Day of Charity, which promotes charitable efforts made to alleviate poverty worldwide. Educational events and fundraising activities were held worldwide on the International Day of Charity.

We carried out some active learning here at BVIS about the importance of clean water for all people (United Nations’ global goal 6).

In our assembly on Friday we met Ms Phuong Dung from the charity we have been supporting to bring clean water to a school in Cu Chi district.

This is the pump that BVIS and the charity Va Va Cu Chi gave to Binh My School in Cu Chi district.

On Friday we held our first “mufti day” of the school year when we raised money for the charity by paying a small amount to wear blue instead of school uniform.
