Mr. Paul Holyome Weekly Update - 08/09/2017

08 September 2017

Dear Parents

Firstly a big thank you to all those parents who came to the primary meet the teacher evening last week. There was a fantastic turn out of parents and we hope that you found the evening very useful.

Please can I remind you, that if you have not done so already, please register for the BBGV Charity Fun Run. It would be great to see many of you there to support this amazing event.

On Tuesday we had a very successful evacuation drill here at the school. We believe it is important that children, staff and parents feel safe whilst on the school site and we will practice evacuating the building regularly during the year. This means that the children and staff can feel confident about what to do in the event that we have to evacuate the building for any reason. I would like to thank the children, the staff and some of our parents who took part in this practice for the seriousness and care they took ensuring that the drill went well.

Those of you that have been on the secondary side of the school will have noticed that we have now invested a significant amount of money to install an electronic heart defibrillator machine. Many of our staff have now been trained on how to use this equipment. This machine can be used on anyone who is in cardiac arrest and needs immediate attention. Of course we hope that we never have to use it, but it offers the school a genuine option in case of such a life threatening emergency.

Finally a reminder that term one clubs start on Monday across the school and we will be operating two buses services in the afternoon for those children who will leave at the normal time and for those children who are staying for the clubs until 4.10. We have an extensive range of clubs again and I am pleased to see that many children have signed up for something.

Have a very relaxing weekend.
