Mr. Simon Higham, Principal
I would like to thank all parents who have completed the Parent Satisfaction Survey for taking the time to feedback about our school. Currently, we stand at a 16% response rate and need more families to simply click on live link below and take the survey – it only takes just 15 minutes and will help us to continue to improve the quality of education that we provide at BVIS HCMC.
Parent Satisfaction Survey
Our goal is to reach a 50% (or more) response rate. Your children should be asking you to help so they can achieve their special treat that I have arranged as a reward for all teachers and children if this target is met and only you can make it happen!
Your feedback really does matter to us.
Do you have a child who is currently 0 – 36 months old? Do you want to join a creative and friendly environment where your child can learn to play with others and you can meet new parents with children of the same age? Have you heard about our Parent and Toddler Group called FundinoTots that runs morning sessions 3 times each week?
Click on this link to find out more about this great provision and how you can enrol your child today.
Alternatively, please contact Ms Nhung in the Admission’s Office at (28) 3758 0709 – 888/411 to arrange a free trial.
It was a real pleasure to attend our Christmas Funday event last Saturday and be part of such a special event that had over 700 participants. For those who were able to join us, I hope that you enjoyed the event that helped to create a real festive feel around our school. My thanks go to all of the BVIS team that helped to make this such a successful event for all of our BVIS community.
Yesterday, all parents across our school received a letter via email that introduced the visit of this year’s school photographer. From Monday 14th to Friday 18th January 2019, the company Pret-A-Portrait will be in school to take both individual and class photographs of all of our children.
If you would like to read more about Pret-A-Portrait, their website can be accessed by clicking here. Please note that this site is not in Vietnamese however, all details about how to order will, as always, be fully translated for you.
We look forward to sharing more details about this exciting service for all BVIS parents when we return to school in January. This will include the date that you child(ren’s) class/form will be having their photographs taken, how you can order and make payment and how you can book to have photographs of siblings taken after 3.15pm.
Finally, I would like to thank all of the BVIS HCMC community for welcoming me into this very unique and special environment. My first term as Principal of the school has been both incredibly fulfilling and professionally rewarding as I have focused upon building relationships and trust with students, teachers and parents. I have a passion for learning and enjoy the daily challenges that this position brings to me and I very much look forward to leading our school into the future in order for us to be even better that we currently are. Often we can take what we have for granted, however I can reassure you that what we have at BVIS HCMC is something very special that continues to make a difference to every children who receives the educational opportunities that we offer.
On behalf of all of our school community, I would like to wish each and every one of you a very happy Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year. I look forward to seeing you all again in school for the beginning of Term 2 on Monday 7th January 2019.
As part of our commitment to the safety of everyone within our BVIS community, I would like to remind you of the following people who you can contact if you have a concern about the welfare of any child within our school (please see the poster below)

Term 1 ended with several weeks of special events for parents. We have been delighted to see such large numbers of parents and extended family members in school watching the children perform or engaging with the children in activities relating to the curriculum.
It is very important to us at BVIS that parents, grandparents and nannies, (all members of your family in fact!) come to school to support the children and to find out more about their learning. There is nothing more motivating and important to the children than knowing that their family cares about their progress. We hope you feel as proud of their achievements as we do at the end of this long and busy term!
In the 21st century, it is so much quicker and easier to engage with school due to social media and digital communication methods. As you know, at BVIS, you can use ‘Tapestry’ if your child is in the Early Years department and ‘Class Dojo’ in the Primary phase to communicate directly with your child’s teachers. Ongoing research shows that family engagement in school is vital for success. Students with involved parents or other caregivers attain higher grades, and have improved social skills and behaviour.
