Primary Update – Ms. Rosy Clark – 15/06/2018

15 June 2018

This week in the Primary School

School Visit

On Friday 8th June, we welcomed Ms Jane Denby, Head of Self-Review and Accreditation for the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), to the British Vietnamese International School. We use the IPC for our Lien Ket curriculum and Ms Jane brought her expertise to some lesson observations in English and Vietnamese classrooms as well as to her meetings with Mr Dan, our Lien Ket Coordinator.

Ms Jane visits schools all over the world so her feedback is very valuable to us and I was especially delighted with her high praise for the quality of the bilingual aspects of Lien Ket at BVIS.

Swim Galas

This week we held our annual swim galas for all Primary year groups. On Tuesday, Year 1 and Year 2 children were actively challenged by a circuit of water activities designed to be fun as well as to build confidence. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were well supported by family members, pool side.

On Thursday it was the turn of the Year 3 – Year 6 children. Once again, all were active participants in the event but for these older year groups there were also some competitive races. Many housepoints were awarded with Hanoi House winning this year’s swimming trophy.

Thank you to the PE department for their excellent organisation of the galas.
