Dear Parents,

It has been a privilege to work at BVIS this year. The enthusiasm and warmth of our students has made coming to work every day a pleasure. The staff at our school provided a spectacular range of lessons and activities for our students and been professional and positive role models for them all. In the last few weeks I have attended our graduation, our Sports Awards Evening, the year 6 graduation and our Secondary School Prize giving assembly.  The range of awards at the events from Academic and Sporting excellence, contributions to the Creative Arts, commitment to Community work and the Environment, to name a few have really brought home what a huge variety of talents there are in the school. There one thing that will stay in my memory from all of these awards ceremonies is the sheer confidence and eloquence of our students when they have been presenting to us. Our year 13 valedictorians and our year 6 representatives gave speeches that experienced public  speakers would have been proud of. They did this of course not in one language but fluently in both English and Vietnamese.

In our final week of term students and teachers are engaged in International week. Ms Hardiman and Miss Clements have put together programme of activities including Dance Drama, Public speaking, whilst looking at the cultures of countries around the world. As well as developing their global mindedness, this week is also providing students with many opportunities to develop the skills that we have been so proud of in our graduating students. Some of our students have been given the task of creating a short film of the week which you can see here.

BVIS International Week

Since this is the final Hub of the year I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Staff both the teachers and the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to support all that they do, for their enormous dedication to our students. I would also like to thank the students and parents for their love of learning and their support for our school.

I hope that the summer break provides time for you all to spend some time together with your families and we look forward to welcoming you back next year.
