This week in the Primary School

BIS-BVIS Writers’ Workshop

Back in term two, BIS and BVIS held a short story competition around the theme of WATCH. The competition was for children from Year 1 – Year 6 and they could write their story of no more than 600 words in either English or Vietnamese.

The 12 competition winners from BVIS joined the BIS winners on Monday for their prize which was a special “Writers’ Workshop” day. Accompanied by Ms Ha, our Vietnamese Literacy Coordinator, and Ms Rachael, our English Literacy Coordinator, the BVIS children travelled by school bus to District 2 only to find that they would be travelling onto a different world or time on the “The Magic School Bus”!

The children had a great day collaborating with their peers at BIS to create writing and videos about their selected time and place.

It was an excellent opportunity for them to work with others and challenge their ability to reflect, research and present in a variety of forms.

A big thank you to all the Literacy Coordinators from both BIS and BVIS for organising this fantastic learning opportunity.
