KS2 Speech and Poetry Evening
One of the annual highlights is the KS2 Speech and Poetry evening which took place on Thursday evening. A child from each class in Year 3 and 4 was selected to take part in a poetry recital competition and children from Year 5 and 6 had the opportunity to share their personal speeches. The theme this year was is linked to Global Goal 4 - Quality Education for all . All the children presented brilliantly with poems and speeches in both English and Vietnamese. It was great to see BVIS children being so thoughtful and reflective about how important education is for everyone. Thanks to our EAL team for organising a great evening.

Fobisia World Music Festival Trip in Singapore
On Friday 18th – Saturday 19th January several Year 11 and 12 Music students had the pleasure of travelling to Singapore to take part in the 2019 FOBISIA World Music Festival. The festival was held at Tanglin Trust school and involved many different FOBISIA schools around Asia, including ones from India and China. During the festival BVIS students learnt about different styles of music and instruments from Indonesia, Latin America, Africa and Europe. They took part in several concerts and had the exciting opportunity to play alongside professional artists and musicians.
To top it off, BVIS students got to perform with the legendary Havana Social Club Band and even learnt how to salsa dance! It was a highly successful trip enjoyed by all.
Thank you to all Music students for your enthusiasm and participation in this fantastic trip!
Season 2 City Championships Week
It’s been a very busy week for our sports teams. The badminton, table tennis, basketball and football teams travelled all over the city this week to attend their city championships, which they have worked towards over the past couple of months.
I would like to thank all the coaches for taking on the responsibility of running a team and say a big well done to all the athletes who attended and tried their best, you were great ambassadors for BVIS.
It was a real pleasure to watch some of these fixtures and see the passion and commitment of our students.
