This month, our U11 boys travelled to AMIS to compete in the end of season City Championship tournament. The boys had all trained hard since the start of term and were ready to give their best.
In the first match our goalkeeper Tom made some fantastic saves to keep us in the match, and at the other end goals from Kevin, Khoa and Ben meant we finished as 3-2 winners against EIS.
The second match came straight after the first with very little rest, but our boys showed excellent perseverance and defensive strength to keep the scores level, until Kevin scored again to give us a 1-0 win against ISHCMC, taking us into the semi-final.
We then had a short break before facing TAS in the semi-final. The break gave our boys a chance to rest and regain their energy, which was evident as we went on to achieve a convincing 3-0 win, with goals from Kevin (2) and Khang, which set up a final against our first opponents, EIS.
After losing to us in the opening match, EIS had made a good recovery and played an excellent final against us. Despite some fantastic effort, and two great goals from Kevin, we unfortunately lost 5-2, which meant we took 2nd place overall.
Our boys were obviously disappointed to have lost in the final, but they did extremely well to get there, and this will be a good experience for them. Winning 3 out of 4 games in a long, hot day is a truly great result, and coaches Mr. Gavin and Mr. Warren are so proud of all of them. Congratulations boys, you did BVIS proud!
