For our youngest children in F1, their first weeks in school have been extremely exciting and busy.

Our teachers are working hard to ensure that your children feel safe and secure in their new environment. As you know, starting school can be a very challenging time for the children and some will take longer than others to settle. To begin with, all the children will certainly be very tired at the end of each day. We are very impressed with how well the children are settling in class. They are becoming increasingly confident to say “goodbye” to their parents and cares as they begin to get on with their day in school. This is achieved through the continuous support from parents with our staggered start schedule. This is the beginning of a true partnership between home and school in helping your child to settle into their new learning environment.

It is great to see the children in F1 are becoming familiar with their new routines, particularly eating their lunch in school, trying different kinds of food and trying hard to eat all of their snack and lunch. This week, the children also accessed the soft playroom which they thoroughly enjoyed. In class, the children are becoming more confident about accessing activities of their interest. The activities they liked exploring this week were: our ‘let’s investigate’ activity as they had a go in using their fine motor skills to scoop flour and playing in the water area as they filled, emptied and sprayed water using our spray bottle.
