Calling all musicians - that means you!
The wait is over, it is nearly time for the Young Musician of the Year Competition 2020!

As in previous years, the competition is held in conjunction with BIS. However, we here at BVIS are very excited to be hosting the final for the very first time.
This is an amazing experience and great opportunity for you to showcase your musical skills and develop performing confidence and style in increasingly competitive rounds. It is also a very sociable event with students from both schools taking part in a mutually supportive environment.
So, who can take part?
Every student in Year 3, 4 5 and 6 who plays an instrument is invited and encouraged to take part.
When the competition takes place?
BVIS and BIS will organize the first round and the semi round separately!
First Round: Monday 14th & Tuesday 15th September 2020
At BVIS, the first round is an informal lunchtime audition in Mr. Fergus Walker’s room (214), where you will play in front of other students and a few of your teachers.
Semi-round: Friday 18th September 2020
If you are successful in the first round, you will be invited to play in the semi-final, which is part of primary assembly.
Grand Final: Tuesday 6th October 2020
The four best performers in the semi-final will then progress to the Grand Final. This is on the evening of Tuesday 6th October in the Main Hall.
All parents, family and friends are invited to come along and support our talented finalists at the Grand Final.
The final is judged by Secondary music teachers from BVIS, BIS and ABCIS schools. All finalists will receive a beautiful trophy to celebrate their success.
So, don’t delay. Sign up today in Mr. Fergus’ room and Get Practising!
