3,2,1… blast off!
This week, our F3 students have zoomed away from earth to learn all about what life is like when you live in space. They were so fascinated to learn about how life is different in space where there is no gravity and everything floats. Our children also found out how astronauts wash their hair and hands, using a meal or hot drinks and where to go to sleep on a space station.
Our F3 students also explored the variety of vehicles that were controlled by the astronauts to identify and label different features. "Fred talk" was used to hear and write sounds in words that made it so much fun!
They had a great time using the unifix cubes to measure and compare space rockets with other objects from their homes that astronauts would need in space. They compared it by using height phrases in language such as "taller" and "shorter" or length language such as "longer'' and ''shorter”. The children were challenged to see what was the highest and shortest things in their home that could be measured with their cubes.
At the end of the day, we set the STEAM challenge for the children to create a space scene using the resources from the learning pack and recycled materials from their homes. Let's take a look at the amazing artwork that was carefully made by our beloved F3 children!
