Our Community

Community is an important aspect of your child’s education at BVIS. Our range of community projects are carefully integrated into the curriculum to make sure that our students are involved in projects that improve the community and the world around them.

A Close Relationship

Developing a close relationship between parents, students and BVIS is an integral part of maintaining a vibrant school community. Regular events are held to strengthen this community spirit, honour Vietnamese culture and value Vietnamese traditions.

BVIS organizes a variety of activities across the year including performances and workshops designed to strengthen learning and encourage your child’s development.

The Value of Service

In order to develop truly international citizens, BVIS emphasises the importance of community development projects, both within the school environment, and in broader society.

We partner with a variety of community development organizations through different projects and have established partnerships with public schools, both locally and outside of Ho Chi Minh City. Some previous community development, awareness campaigns and fundraising projects have included:

  • Penguin Campaign
  • Have A Heart
  • Clean-up Day
  • Plastic Free Schools

Practical Application

We work with a number of partners in our community in order to link students’ knowledge to practical tasks. As part of our curriculum, students have the opportunity to visit local businesses, educators, publishers, newspaper offices and hospitals and engage with adventurers, merchants, poets, and writers. Start-up idea contests, cultural events, meetings with inspirational people and internship programs provide opportunities for your child to experience real life job environments, visualize potential educational outcomes and develop a lifelong love of learning.

An International Outlook

Being a part of recognized global education organizations, BVIS has not only fully taken part in competitions, events and programs held by institutions like Federation of British International Schools in South East Asia (FOBISIA) and Nord Anglia Education (NAE), but also successfully organized large scale events for them. Some examples include:

  • Southeast Asian Mathematics Competition (SEAMAC)
  • Annual NAE regional conference
  • Education conference for FOBISIA teachers and school members
  • HCMC Young Enterprise Competition
  • HCMC Primary Mathematics Competition

As a result, children are able to experience and recognize challenges in global development goals which require commitment, coordination and cooperation from different communities and stakeholders.

A Global Community

When you and your child join BVIS, you will be joining Nord Anglia’s warm and vibrant global community, more than 50,000 strong. Our students, parents and staff provide a supportive network ready to help you with any aspect of school life. All our schools are hubs for their communities and offer a wide range of inclusive events and activities designed to improve your child’s educational outcomes and provide them with life skills beyond the classroom.
