Mr. Matthew Thomas

BA Honours degree in Sports Teaching - Southampton Solent University, Primary PGCE - Canterbury Christchurch University

Matt graduated from Southampton Solent with a BA Honours degree in Sports Teaching before going on to complete a Primary PGCE at Canterbury Christchurch University.
Matt studied Primary Education and enjoyed understanding how different children learn. During his university years, Matt completed several courses focusing on the process of communicating with children from different backgrounds.  Since then, Matt has worked in two inner-city schools in Bristol and Bournemouth teaching in both key stage 1 and 2. During this time, he gained experience in teaching children from over 21 different nationalities.

Matt prides himself creating a positive learning environment where all students become independent learners by means of enquiry, reflection and perseverance.

Outside of school, Matt is extremely active and enjoys participating in and watching a range of sports (especially football, cricket and golf). In addition, Matt is keen to travel the world to learn about different cultures.
