Julie is a British national who has lived in Switzerland with her family for eight years. She is a graduate of Cardiff university with a BA honours degree in Journalism, Film & Broadcasting. Prior to discovering her passion for teaching she pursued a variety of academic and professional paths, working in publishing, as a travel agent, and as a plumber and tiler while managing property renovation projects in London. These diverse experiences, as well as her love of creative projects and outdoor activities, have given her a wealth of skills invaluable to an enthusiastic teacher.
In 2017 Julie gained the PGCE (International) and the IBO Certificate (IBCTL) from Durham University and ECOLINT, then worked as a Teaching Assistant and Substitute Teacher at Gems World Academy in Etoy for two years. Julie is excited to be starting at LCIS with year 2, and is currently working towards the TTC International EAL Certificate, so that she can better help her multilingual students. In her spare time Julie enjoys being outdoors with her family, live music and scuba diving.
