It was a great night and showcased the talents of our Music Team. I wish I had studied Music at ISM!

ISM Teachers' Charity Concert A fine evening of music performed by the staff of ISM Music Department plus special guests. The event was in aid of, ‘Heart for Melisa’ and ‘Diema’s Dream’. Both parents and staff donated generously and thoroughly enjoyed the talent displayed on the night. IMG_0316 1

There were fine performances from all of the staff involved. TV stars Anna Khalembakova, Valentine Khalembakov, Tatiana Senatorova & Katrina Fountain (all seen on ‘The Voice - Russia’) entertained with a slick performance of I Really Don’t Care by Demi Lovato. Non-music specialist teachers Pete Carr, Dean Moore and Viktoriya Yakovleva joined in the party with their own versions of the classic rock song ‘Alright Now’ by Free and ‘Never Enough’ from ‘The Greatest Showman’

It was great to see such a large number of parents, students and staff in attendance, showing their support for our school charities ‘Heart for Melisa’ and ‘Diema’s Dream’.

Melisa is an ISM student who suffered heart failure last year. ISM has pledged to help raise the €1,100,000 for Melisa’s surgery. Diema’s Dream is a charity that ISM has worked with for a number of years, raising money to improve the quality of life of orphans and children with disabilities here in Moscow.  Thank you to everyone who donated on the night.

The event was a fantastic showcase for the talent of our ISM music department.  Led by James Langford and featuring the multi-instrumental skills of Dr. Paul Tkachenko, the diverse array of talent on show demonstrated the range of opportunities our students have to develop their musical skills, alongside their academic studies.  The school community is already looking forward to the next musical events in the calendar. ‘The Music Marathon’ is on the 16th of November 2018 and rehearsals are well underway for the Secondary School production of ‘Annie’ in December. They promise to be events not to be missed.

Adding his congratulations, Head of Upper Campus, Mr Dean Moore, said: “It was a great night and showcased the talents of our Music Team. I wish I had studied Music at ISM!”
