Once again, Krylatskoe Lower Campus has outdone itself by producing its greatest-ever annual Christmas Concert.

As parents walked into the Ivan Gromov Gymnasium, they found it had been transformed into an enchanting ‘Candy Cane Wonderland’. As the curtains parted, they revealed an excited choir of Christmas trees and elves, singing amidst a sea of hanging Christmas lollipops, candy canes, and snowflakes, with Moscow’s own St. Basil’s Cathedral in the background.

Throughout the concert, audience members were treated to an ever-changing opportunity for entertainment. Year One’s Christmas trees brought instant smiles and cheers from the audience to start us off.

Dressed in elf hats with bells, Year Two sang and danced their way through ‘Holly Jolly Christmas’, surprising everyone with an instrumental performance on the Kazoos at the end.

Year Three walked us through ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ and had the audience tapping their toes to their dance performance of ‘Jingle Bell Rock’.

With a medley of ‘Five Favourite Holiday Songs’, Year Four presented their most difficult dance choreography to date, wowing the onlooking audience as they danced and sang with unmatched enthusiasm.

As if this alone was not enough, Krylatskoe Lower Campus students had been hiding a few surprises up their sleeves. As the house lights dimmed and Christmas lights sparkled, our special Christmas Choir held candles and sang ‘Silent Night’ in German. The Christmas Girls’ Choir presented ‘Mister Santa’ with choreography to rival that of any Broadway show.

Krylatskoe Lower Campus’s own Black Belt Recorder Team played a jazzy rendition of ‘Jolly Old Saint Nicholas’. And then it happened. Nearing the end of the concert, Lower Primary presented their biggest surprise yet. The curtain opened to reveal ISM’s first Drum Team, drumming with a complete set of beautiful African drums. Accompanied by our music staff and Upper Campus student guests, the room was soon filled with the sounds of a Salsa being played by band instruments, cowbell, shakers, and drums. Ending the concert on a beautiful high note, Years One to Four closed the evening with ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’.

The enthusiasm for the concert lasted late into the evening as students, parents and teachers alike recounted their favourite moments. Another spectacular show from Krylatskoe Lower Campus had been written into our school’s history books.
