It is important for us at Nord Anglia Education to inspire our students to strive for greatness, to imagine and to invent.
The first week of Term 2 has brought a long-awaited theme into ISM Rosinka – STEAM Week. Inspired by the NAE-MIT collaboration, teachers designed a week full of activities, in which students were able to put on their future goggles and imagine what it would be like in the years to come.
They explored different possibilities to improve the future, from building a house of the future in Pre-Nursery, to creating the transportation of the future in Year 2, to finding ways to fight pollution in Year 6.
Students invoked all aspects of STEAM: they used virtual reality to explore scientific concepts, used 3d-printing, constructed complex structures, calculated the effects and even designed their own STEAM-fashioned t-shirts.
Every student created an individual design, which was described in the class scrapbooks. All the individual designs were displayed in our first ever STEAM Exhibition in the school hall on Friday 24th January and Monday 27th January. Furnished with all kinds of futuristic décor, the hall became somewhat a window into the future, where one could see what imagination led by ingenuity allows to create. Students incorporated reusable and recycled materials, used electric circuits and multiple other resources to show to the Rosinka community what they are capable of.
Mission accomplished: ISM Rosinka is ready for the future!
