We are extremely proud of all our students. They have shown that, as a school, we have a global reach, and there is no limit to anyone’s ambitions.

It would be an understatement to claim that the Class of 2021 faced many challenges. With COVID-19 still dictating global events, IGCSE and A-Level examinations were once again affected.

Despite most of the world being awarded Teacher Assessed Grades in their chosen subjects, our students did it the hard way, with almost half of the examinations being externally marked and assessed.

At IGCSE level, 98% of students achieved at least five A* to C grades (or equivalent) in their subjects studied. Moreover, with 56% of these results coming in at grade A* or A, students were once again attaining well above world and UK averages.

The vast majority of students from the graduating Year 11 cohort have already started their Sixth Form journey here at ISM and settling in well to life in Year 12.

The results achieved by Year 13 students at A-Level were simply outstanding; 49% of all results were A* or A, and our A*-B figure came in at a staggering 79%, demonstrating the hard work and dedication of our students.

This year’s university destinations reflect the calibre of every student who walked the corridors of Sixth Form. Half of the graduating Year 13 students have secured places at UK universities, with most of that group going to one of the Top 25 institutions in the country, according to 2021 rankings.

For the first time, we were absolutely delighted to celebrate the entrance of not just one but two students to Oxford University. Gregory Herne is about to embark on a degree in Philosophy and Italian at Jesus College. He will be joined by Vladimir Molchanov who will be reading English Language and Literature at nearby St Peter’s College.

Around the world, we have alumni attending the University of Toronto, with other students attending excellent universities in Austria, Belgium, Australia and Japan among others.

Our graduates are now Ambassadors for The International School of Moscow and will provide inspiration for our younger students.

We very much forward to following them on the next chapter of their journeys in education, be it here at ISM or at university.
