We are delighted to be able to offer educational visits in and around Moscow at The International School of Moscow. These visits give the children an opportunity to contextualise their learning in places like museums, galleries and attractions. In addition to this, it is a fun way for the children to grow their independence!

Recently, the students from Year 5 went to the Clay Studio. This was a wonderful way to reflect on their artistic learning over the last year, where they have had many opportunities to build with clay. Sophia in Year 5 mentioned that the people working in the studio were “very kind and knowledgeable” and that overall, it was a lovely trip, especially at the end of the school year.

Year 4 students visited the Experimentanium in Sokol, Moscow recently. This magnificent Science Museum has multiple floors with different themes and gives the children a ‘hands on’ scientific experience throughout. The children loved the experiments with light, especially trying to bend light, and the dark room! Carolina, in Year 4, told her teachers that she loved trying all the different experiments with her friends!

Other visits across Lower Primary include Panorama 360 at Moscow City and Kidzania. Teachers ensure that the children understand and value the links to the curriculum and consistently ask questions throughout the visit to extend the children’s thinking. However, the main objective of the visits is for the children to have a fun, safe and exciting day with their classmates! All the students I spoke with certainly did!
